Mary Ann Johnson, PhD
Dr. Johnson is a Professor of Foods and Nutrition and Faculty of Gerontology at UGA. Her expertise is in the development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition interventions for older adults. Joan G. Fischer, PhD, RD, LD
Dr. Fischer is an Associate Professor of Foods and Nutrition and Faculty of Gerontology at UGA. Her expertise is in healthy eating to help prevent and manage heart disease, cancer and other age-related disorders. Dr. Fischer is your contact for information about nutrition, heart disease, and cancer.

Dr. Elbon is the Wellness Coordinator for the Northeast Georgia Area Agency on Aging and Adjunct Faculty with the UGA Department of Foods and Nutrition. Ms. Coats is an undergraduate assistant in the UGA Department of Foods and Nutrition. She provides nutrition education for seniors in the northeast Georgia area.

Jean Edmonds, MT(ASCP)
Ms. Edmonds is a Medical Technologist in the UGA Department of Foods and Nutrition. She conducts nutrition and health screenings in the northeast Georgia Senior Centers with an emphasis on blood sugar and cholesterol monitoring. She also tests vitamin D and B12 levels in our seniors. Vitamin D and B12 deficiencies are quite common in older people and can adversely affect health and well-being.
